Research and Sources

Light Blue Learning is informed by Polyvagal Theory, developed by Dr. Stephen Porges—a theory that continues to evolve as new research emerges, but it is not the only lens we use. We also draw from a broader body of research in nervous system science, behavioral science, developmental science, stress science, and real classroom practice.

Light Blue Learning draws from research on the nervous system (how the body responds to stress and safety), behavioral science,  developmental science, attachment theory, executive-function development, and real classroom experience working to help educators interpret and respond to student behavior in ways that support both regulation and learning.
